The Voortman CNC Beam Coping Machine programming is easy and intuitive, even for those with little or no computer experience.

Voortman's 24 Hour Tech Support Center can resolve 90% of support issues. However, there are 50+ Voortman field personnel stationed all over North and South America, Europe and Africa.

Voortman uses an extended torch nozzle to reach inside Flanges. These are available in a variety of sizes, depending on how thick the material is to be cut. The torch tips can also be gas-specific so please specify the type of gas you use: Acetylene or Natural Gas, MAPP or Propane, etc.

Three torches are usually used for multiple torch or triple torch CNC beam-coping machines. Each torch is dedicated to a specific flange or web. The 3-tower machine has a shorter positioning time than the single torch one, but the single torch machine can still do more cuts than existing triple torch machines because of the 5-axis movement in the cutting head. Additionally, triple torch machines tend to be 3-4x more expensive than single torch CNC beam cutter coping machines.

Voortman offers regularly scheduled training courses for all Voortman Ocean equipment in their Bradley Illinois facility. These courses are available for both new operators and retraining existing operators. Participants who have completed this course return to the shop motivated, educated and eager to improve productivity. Please contact us for more information and pricing.

Voortman developed Raptor 3DCAD/CAM Software, which takes CNC innovation to the next level by allowing users to program more quickly and accurately. The 3D platform allows you to inspect, modify, and export part information. This, combined with Voortman CNC technology, means maximum fabricator capacity.

This plasma drilling machine can be used to perform as many functions as possible. The PCR41 can produce fully finished parts at low manufacturing costs. This machine automates all traditional cutting operations as well structural steel.

The PCR42 robotic plasma cutter does beam coping and notches, holes, and weld preps. It also splits beams and scribes as well as marks on all four sides of H-beams channels angles, HSS, plates, and H-beams.

Steel Beams

This plasma drilling device has been created to include as many fabrication functions in one machine. The PCR41 allows for the production of finished parts at minimum manufacturing cost. This machine automates all standard cutting operations, and can also handle structural steel.

Voortman's commitment and dedication to support and service is legendary. They are the industry's standard. Voortman employs a global team to support customers. They are always available at the Voortman 24-hour customer support center. Voortman offers support via a world-class remote diagnostic tool, available local support and a warranty that is unmatched in the industry.

Beam Coping Machine Gun Noise

This safety mechanism prolongs tip and head life and greatly increases uptime to avoid costly torchtip changes and repairs.

Of course, the most important reason is price. High-carcinogenic dust from plasma cutting must be collected in a dust extraction filtering unit. The price of fully enclosing the machine to evacuate dust is much higher than what a typical fabricator can afford for a beam handling solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both can serve the same purpose. A coping saw can also be used for cutting thin pieces of metal, plastic or wood. A jigsaw is also useful.

Miters do all the cutting. The hardest part of mitering is measuring accurately and cutting the molding to the right length. Handsaws are perfect for precise cuts and special techniques.

A channel for rainwater is the primary purpose of coping. The coping prevents rainwater from seeping into walls by allowing it to drip down the walls. It also gives the wall an artistic look.

Both coping saws as well as jigsaws can cut curves or irregular shapes. Due to its shorter blade and faster speed, a jigsaw works better for cutting very irregular shapes or tight curves. For curved or circular curves, coping saws work better.

Douglas fir is perhaps the strongest of all wood beams. Although there may be a stronger wood, I don't know of any. Lumber mills today make beams in the same way as plywood. To make extremely strong structural engineered timbers, they use layers of solid wood that have been glued together.
